Limitations: There are limitations to all treatments.  For example, you can get periodontal disease around implants.  Please see your Dentist for an evaluation as to whether implants and crowns or implant supported dentures would be applicable for your situation.  Your Dentist may recommend teaming with an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist, or may recommend that you see a Prosthodontist.  Go for exam and advice.

my dentist & oral surgeon recommended the all-on-4 dental implant procedure for my bottom teeth. can this change the shape of my jaw/facial structure?

Yes and no: The implants will not alter your jaw/facial structure. The dentures that rest on the implants will return your face top it's natural shape. Best person to talk to about this is your Dentist.

Painful Sores: You may have an infection of the surgical site. You need to go back to your doctor ASAP.

Difficult to day..: ... Without an exam and radiograph. Too many possibilities to guess. Call your surgeon for a follow up.

Accepted Answer

Not to worry!: Placing an intraocular lens implant during surgery after cataract removal is standard of care.  It does not hurt at all as you are numb from the anesthetic.  It does not require any sutures.  Success rate of cataract surgery overall is 98-99%.  Just follow your surgeon's instructions and you will do great!

Having : Having had four infections after replacement would put you at high risk for subsequent infections....Have you and your doctor considered a knee fusion (making the knee stiff).  While the knee wouldn't be able to bend, it could support your weight and typically is not painful.  However, if you are determined to go through revision knee replacement and your knee no longer shows signs of infection there is probably a chance that it could be successful..

Quite Painful : It is quite painful and can cause disturbances in your ability to walk for a while. It's also necessary to stay in the hospital for at least a day following surgery. The good thing is that it is almost never necessary any more. If you would like a referral, i know a brilliant implant surgeon in your city who can help you or at least do a second opinion. His consultations are free for implants!

Extremely unlikely;: one of the many complications of surgery too many don't consider. Starting from a single fertilized cell in utero, our body constantly both tears itself down &amp; rebuilds; all rebuilding being based on pre-existing cell, tissue, organ structure, etc. via mechanisms which remain only very partially understood. Once structure changes, by any basis, this changes the rebuilding &amp; resulting structure(s).

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily: Sometimes the bite of the teeth are fine and only a chin implant is needed.  Other times both have to be addressed.  Too many times plastic surgeons just address the chin and fail to recognize the importance of the tooth alignment.  Form and function ought to go together!
