i had my gallbatter removed three days ago. i am feeling the same awful pain as before the surgery, but its on the left side and in my back. why?

See your doctor...: If you are having severe pain after surgery you need to see your surgeon to figure out what is going on.  

During a laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder the abdomen is  filled with gas and this can cause shoulder and back pain  post-operatively.  But this pain could also be a sign of pancreatitis.

the same polyps symptoms reocurred 3 months after the polyps have been removed after a colonoscopie. does a colonoscopie need to be done immediately?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily: If you had a thorough exam and all polyps were removed 3 months ago, and symptoms have recurred, doubtful due to new polyps as they do not grow that fast. Your symptoms were probably not due to the polyps and as yet have not been correctly diagnosed. I would discuss with your endoscopist

what is "stump" neuroma? i've been having pain in the same area i had a neuroma removed and this term keeps coming up?

Not you.: This refers to patients who have had an amputation, such as of a leg. The cut off tissue end includes nerve endings, which can cause a lot of pain with pressure (like when walking with a prosthesis).

i had my appendix removed 3 months ago and i'm starting to get the same pain i had before it was removed. what could this be?

Maybe normal : Having a variety of aches and pains, some similar to the original pain may be normal, or a sign of an abscess inside. While this is a bit unusual for an abscess, if the pain is significant enough, you feel ill, and/or are having fevers, it would be a good idea to follow up with your surgeon. Hope this helps!

do bumpy moles grow back the same if you get them removed?

Get a consult: Some moles which are flat can be covered with make up, but seek out a consult from a facial plastic surgeon about more permanent removal.  Some moles can be shaved off with good cosmetic results while some require full excision.  I have found many patients are highly appreciative about their mole removals.

can a gallbladder and appendix be removed at the same time as a hysterectomy?

Accepted Answer

It's possible.: Usually different types of surgeons need to work together to perform these operations. A general surgeon does gallbladder removal as well as appendectomy, whereas, a gynecologist does a hysterectomy. Some gynecologist have privileges to do appendectomies as well.

if i had a hernia removed when i was little can it reappear in the same spot?

Yes.: Recurrent hernias are not uncommon. Recurrence rates vary depending on the type of hernia, it's original size, method of original repair, age and health of the patient, etc.

i have a gluteal abcess. i had one two years and had it removed surgically. again got one near the same area. need gone remedy.

Accepted Answer

Same remedy: Each abscess needs to be excised surgically followed by antibiotic treatment.  If there is a reason for you to be susceptible to getting abscesses, then the remedy you seek depends on addressing the susceptibility (be it a primary immune deficiency, metabolic problem such as diabetes, occupational or other cause for increased exposure, etc.)

a thorn pricked my finger. i removed it but after a day or so the same spot is picnching me and there is a blak dot. what  exactly should i do?

Sporotrichosis: Also referred to as "rose gardener's disease" is a fungal infection which may be caused by a thorn prick. Aside from a rose thorn prick, other forms of exposures may lead to this condition as well. If left untreated an ulceration at the site of the infection may take place. Potassium iodine saturation may cure the problem but a tedious task. Itraconazole and Fluconazole are effective.

i had a benign uvula papilloma removed 3 years ago and it never looked like it was totally gone, looks the same.  is it okay to leave it alone?

Accepted Answer

Remove it: Unlikely to be anything serious but I have found it best to totally remove abnormal lesions....if for no other reason than peace of mind :-)
