Try alternative: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a focal neuropathy of the median nerve at the wrist.  Wearing a wrist splint and an injection are typically first line therapies.   The use of narcotics for this condition is not advised.

As prescribed by MD: Any narcotic combination should only be taken as prescribed by md. The safety of the combination depends on the reason for taking it, dose, and health status of the patient.

Below: the safest thing for you to do is to schedule an appointment with your primary care physician so you can discuss a better plan for your pain control, it is not recommended that you take two different types of narcotic pain medications

if it is been seven hours since your last tramadol dose most likely that medication is out of your system

Yes, you can, but: combining the 2 defeats the purpose of each drug's usage. Tramadol is a rather unique analgesic drug that is indicated for moderate to moderately severe pain. Although it binds to mu receptors, tramadol is not technically classified as an opioid analgesic. Hydrocodone is a Schedule II opiate, and as such has many side effects that Tramadol doesn't. Adjust your medication with your physician.

Who is "you" saying: it?  There is no reason to do that. Tramadol acts at the same receptor sites as hydrocodone, the opioid that is in norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen).  More is not always better.  In fact, depending on someone's genetic makeup and how they metabolize opioids, in some people tramadol may antagonize the effects of other opioids, and you would be better off using ONE or the OTHER, but not both. Get advice from doctor/pharmacist.

Only if under the : Close supervision of a physician and if taken as prescribed. Risk is loss of respiratory drive. They should not be taken together if you I have sleep apnea unless you are very compliant with your  CPAP machine including  during naps.

is hydrocodone an anti-inflammatory in addition to pain reliever?  can i take it if i'm allergic to tramadol?

No: Opioids do not have any known anti-inflammatory effects.  Tramadol is a different chemical and is unrelated to the opiate chemical structure and "allergy" to it (don't know what your reaction is, but most adverse drug reactions are not truly allergic) would not mean you would have a problem with hydrocodone or other opiates.
