for most boys, what is the average age that they start to grow their first bits of chest hair?

It is individual: Usually for boys, there will be the beginning of hair growth in the immediate pre-pubertal years of 11-12.  Pubic hair will become obvious, then arm pit hair and then facial hair.  Chest hair in my opinion is usually later.  Depending on genetic make up, you may have a lot or a little in these areas.  Chest hair is very independent.  Some men essentailly never have chest hair.

Genetics: About 5% of men never grow chest hair and have relatively thin beards. Many (maybe most) women in the us say they prefer this, and such guys are the least likely to get male pattern baldness. Paul newman had no chest hair and was the first hollywood man with really good muscle definition to go shirtless in the movies. It didn't bother him. Enjoy who you are.

Try minoxidil: Try topical solution of minoxidil (Rogaine or generic). If it works, it may take up to 4 months.  Remember to wear disposable gloves when applying it.

Nothing: The pattern of each person&#x27;s body hair is determined almost entirely by genetics. Little or nothing can increase hair growth. A drug called minoxidil can help a little on the scalp, but only fine fuzzy hair, probably would not help on your chest. You&#x27;ll have to live with what you have. Most important, don&#x27;t be tempted by quack remedies you can find on line, unscrupulous pharmacies or doctors, etc.

Personal preference: Shaving is fine as long as you don't cause an infection of the hair follicles.

Yes: 14 years old boy is in growth spurt period and will grow  3inches more .they keep on growing till 18-19 ears of age .
