Personal preference: Shaving is fine as long as you don't cause an infection of the hair follicles.

It's your choice: Nowadays, many men shave their chests -- in Hollywood, it seems to be the norm. It's perfectly safe -- do it after a good shower with soap. You're probably too young to have it removed -- there may be someone special in your future who likes what Nature gave you.
