Any symptoms?: How did they find the stone and why did they look for it? If you had symptoms suggestive to gall bladder obstruction, it is better to take the gall bladder out. If it never caused any symptoms, i would just keep an eye on it. No pills can help with this.

Depends: many people have gallbladder stones but no symptoms. If your husband is without symptoms, no need for surgery at this time. Best to discuss this with your doctor. Can be observed : Although surgery is required for gall stones , could be observed if there is no symptoms , actigall (ursodiol) is will dissolve cholesterol stones , need to use all the time , had several side effects besides expensive , surgery is best option , is safe ;has  low risk ambulatory procedure . You decide.

RUQ Pain: The presence of gallstones and/or sludge within the gallbladder does not necessarily mean you have acute cholycystitis. However, if you are having severe abdominal pain, especially within the right upper quadrant, and you have ANY fever, I would consider evaluation by a doctor, as soon as possible.

Pain and nausea: Upper abdominal pressure discomfort with gas and bloated feeling after eating, may get upper abdominal pain and nausea, sometimes vomiting. Worse after eating some fatty or greasy foods. Pain can go into the right upper abdomen.

Does she have pain?: The only definitive treatment of gallbladder disease is to remove the "gallstone factory".Thankfully, this can usually be removed via out-patient laparoscopic surgery. Like all operations, there are risks and it is up to your wife & her surgeon to decide if the benefits of this operation outweigh the risks.  However, if she has stones that are "silent"--not causing symptoms--we don't recommend rx.

Depends: Many, many people have cholelithiasis.  The question is the stone giving you problems?  Do you have pain, indigestion, fever or for example excessive belching.  Do you have signs of hepatitis or jaundice?  These would all be inidications for the gallbladder to be removed.

Acalculous cholecyst: You have a diseased GB and need a cholecystectomy. This usually caused by fine sludge obstructing the outflow tract of the GB and causing infection.
