: I don't advocate that type of exercise if you have active painful  hip bursitis. Get it treated by your physician or orthopedic specialist before performing that repetitive activity of your hip joints.

Strengthen/stretch: There are no exercises that will change your bony anatomy. That being said, you can maximize your functional potential with gentle stretching and balanced strengthening. Strengthening of the deep core muscles and glutes and hip flexor/adductor stretching is useful. A physical therapist or personal trainer can help customize a program for you.

Only you would know: Hurt and harm are two different things. There is no harm in trying whatever aerobic fitness you desire. If comfortable, then continue. If painful, you need to decide if the end result is really worth it. I would suspect if you have sciatica from a disk problem, sitting would be worse than a treadmill. On the contrary, if spinal stenosis, then bike would be much better tolerated due to flexed back.

Everyone : Everyone should wear a helmet when riding a bike to reduce the severity of injury to the brain when crashes happen.  After a crash, the helmet should be discarded (many manufacturers have a return and replacement program) and disabled (such as by cutting the straps) so that it can not be reused.  Helmets lose their shock-absorbing properties during a crash.

People who hit their heads are not good sources of information about their injury, or about associated symptoms such as loss of consciousness -- witnesses are better.  Being dazed or knocked out briefly is a sign of concussion, which is a brain injury.  After a concussion, people often experience a syndrome that may include irritability, sleep disturbance, poor concentration, and headaches.  This syndrome usually resolves after several months.

It is true that brain injuries can cause seizures, but often a brain injury begins a period of heightened surveillance which detects longstanding conditions that have been hiding "under the surface."  these conditions could include epilepsy.

Absence seizures (or absence epilepsy) is a very specific type of epilepsy that most experts agree is a primary generalized epilepsy.  ("absence" in this case is pronounced with a french accent, sort of like "ab-sahnz".)  in other words, absence epilepsy is genetic, not acquired from head injuries or any other brain insult.

Diagnosing conditions like absence epilepsy requires a high degree of expertise.  The diagnosis is very specific, and shouldn't be a conclusion that is reached before consultation and testing by a pediatric neurologist or epileptologist.  [i am going to move this discussion from "neurophysiology" to "pediatric neurology".].

May not be your hip: Snapping hip syndrome may be due to an external cause (eg., snapping of the iliotibial band or gluteus maximus over the greater trochanter) or an internal cause (eg., snapping of the iliopsoas tendon over the iliopectineal eminence, acetabular labral tear, intra-articular loose body). Sometimes ultrasound performed during maneuvers that replicate the click can be helpful to discriminate.

Yes: Stationary bikes, or exercise bikes, are good for low-impact, cardiovascular exercise. They can be used at home or at a health club and come in many sizes and shapes. They also are good for people who have had hip replacement and are beneficial to people of all ages. There are upright bikes and recumbent, or reclining bikes. If you have had hip surgery, ask your physical therapist for tips.

See a PT: There are numerous ways in which you can condition and slim down around your hips.  General aerobic exercise and muscle strengthening of the hip and buttock muscles is key. A physical therapist or athletic trainer can help you establish a dedicated home exercise program that you can do at home without any equipment.
