No: The injection you will receive for troch bursitis will have steroids in it  more than likely, but the single dose given locally does not normally have much systemic effect at all. If you were diabetic you may note a small spike in your sugars, but it should not  cause any longer systemic effects like weight gain. Hope this helps and feel better soon!

Yes: To make the steroid more dilute to achieve a wider spread of solution. Some doctors just use more anesthetic instead of saline.

Infection?: This is often manifested by pain, fever, swelling, redness and there may be chills, generalized malaise.  In this situation if you are not substantially improved within another few hours you should be seen by a physician and not a pa. If this is infected it could become very very serious quickly.
