Safe: Almost all blood draw puncture sites stop bleeding in a minute or less. Unless you are still bleeding for some reason, it's perfectly safe to go swimming.

Unusual: It is rare for a spider vein to be infected... Need more information. Do you have these veins down by the ankle or lower leg with other clusters of veins, or ankle swelling? Or trauma to leg? Is it on the leg? Was it scratched due to intense leg itching?

See below: Visit your father frequently and ask to speak to the nursing staff and/or physicians in charge if you have any concern about the treatment being given. The staff will be more attentive when they know a family member is actively involved in your fathers care. Ask if the center has a Patient Advocate you can speak with. Each state also has a Long-Term Care Ombudsman to investigate complaints.

i had a root canal that is now infected.  i now have a  thrombus on the interna l jugular vein. ultra sound was done but , doctors are unsure ?

Lemierre's: There is a condition known as lemierre's disease in which a retrotonsillar abscess can extend into the bloodstream and produce thrombotic lesions of the jugular veins along with other significant problems.  I cannot tell whether this is true in your case, but woudl see an ENT doctor and get diagnosed.  There may be other issues.

If redness spreading or tenderness increasing or fever may need antibiotics or if abscesses May need drainage or excision( unusual)

It depends: It depends on the type of infection.  Sometimes the lymphatic system heals well and sometimes the vessels will 'clog' and stop draining properly.  The lymphatic system deals with many infections during your lifetime - some minor and sometimes major. It has the amazing ability to handle most infections very well.  But if it 'clogs' swelling occurs that can be permanent.

Possibly : Contact lens wearers are more predisposed to ocular irritations, whether it be from dryness, allergies, inflammation or infection. The redness you describe may be from dryness or irritation from protein deposits on the contacts. If the contacts are uncomfortable to wear, could be too tight.
