A member asked:

Eyes burning with slight red veins showing on upper part of eyeball. have not wore contacts since sunday. is this from old contacts or dry eye? infect

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly : Contact lens wearers are more predisposed to ocular irritations, whether it be from dryness, allergies, inflammation or infection. The redness you describe may be from dryness or irritation from protein deposits on the contacts. If the contacts are uncomfortable to wear, could be too tight. Doubt infection since you don't have pain/discharge. Try intensive non preserved artificial tears, then c MD
