Food: Possibly a reaction to food. If your sx's were limited to only hives - it is most likely ok. I don't know the contents of your particular sushi. However, it is recommended that pregnant women don't eat  any raw fish.

im 26 weeks pregnant, i broke out in hives last week, will a lot of benedryl/ zyrtec and cortizone (hydrocortisone) creams affect my unborn baby? my hives burn...

Probably not: Zyrtec is a class b (very safe), Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is category c (safe). Odds are that  your baby will be fine. However, simple hives usually itch, not burn. If you need to use a lot of medication without getting adequate relief, go see  your obstetrician and/or a dermatologist.

Chronic urticaria: It should not affect the baby. No way to know at this time if it will passed on to your baby. time will tell.

im pregnant 9weeks and i have allergic ..guess its hives..almost everyday...can i take zin tablet 10mg..is there any effect on pregnancy..plz help?

Zin?: Can you provide a generic name for this drug.  If you are talking about cetirizine, then it is likely ok since it is considered pregnancy category B in the old FDA classification - the safest rating it can give.  As always, the less medication you take , the better off you are during pregnancy especially in the first 20 weeks.

Hives: You may have heat urticaria, you can take otc Claritin (loratadine) or zyrtec to see if they help, they are safe during pregnancy.

when i was pregnant i are tuna fish and then got hives and threw up a few times, is it possible i'm allergic to tuna fish now? i don't dare to try it

Yes: based on your symptoms of hives/vomiting you are allergic to this food

Yes: Hives are due to dilated blood vessels in the outer layers of the skin.  In pregnancy, blood volume increases, as does the flow of blood to the skin (hence the "pregnancy glow").  Therefore, hives can worsen....

Antihistamines: H1 antihistamines like Zyrtec, Xyzal, (levocetirizine) Claratin are all category B in pregnancy and so assumed to be safe. Also H2 antihistamines like Zantac are Category B as well and we frequently use this combination to treat hives.  You should be ok with a regimen like this, but I would see an allergy specialist to help you choose the safest combination of medications.

No: Hives are common.  1 in 5 people gets them at some point in their lives.  Generally, if not caused by food or drug or bee sting allergy, they are not a sign of a dangerous problem.  Unless you have another underlying problem causing the hives, there should be no affect on the fetus.  But make sure you tell your ob.

No: I am unaware of any "natural" cures for hives in the pregnant or nonpregnant state.  Hives are tough to diagnose and treat in the best of circumstances.
