low carb diet takes away acid reflux is it because of eliminating sugars ? does sugars cause acid reflux?

Any food: Can cause acid to be produced by the stomach, thus causing acid reflux.
I believe that caffeinated drinks, alcohol, spicy foods can make acid reflux worse than sugary food.
Water intake, antacids and proton pump inhibitors- Omeprazole will neutralize or minimize acid production.

Of course!: Metformin is the most commonly prescribed medication for people w/diabetes -- many who are on low carb diets. Neither metformin or victoza (liraglutide) should predispose you to low glucose.

gas after normal bowel movements. low carb and low sugar and dairy diet. incorporating fiber - prunes, apples raisins, oatmeal. colonoscopy 6 years ago was fine.
not sure what causes gas after a bowel movement?

Try varying it.: Fiber is viewed favorably for its absorption of fluid, preventing constipation, lowering cholesterol and (sometime) blood sugar. However, it can contribute to bowel gas. A trial of reduced fiber might help.  Another approach can be a trial of the active  agent in Gas-X, simethicone; it's available in oral forms. Its mechanism of action is the reduction of bubble surface tension, reducing gas.

5 hr gtt: You need a 5 hour glucose tolerance test. Your notation that "glucose is normal" and "post-prandial Insulin is 66" may be mis-timing the changes that occur during your symptoms. These changes are quite dynamic, changing over minutes.

low carb/low sugar diet for many years. very fit, active& not overweight. 2 consecutive morning blood tests showed mildly elevated fasting glucose (101 & 102), but non-fasted glucose is lower somehow & a1c is great (4.4%). concerning for prediabetes?

: This does not appear to be diabetes, especially given your hemoglobin A1C, which tells you your overall blood sugar control over the past 3 months. If you want to monitor this, you could have the hemoglobin A1C repeated in 3-4 months to see what the trend is. If you continue with your healthy lifestyle, this likely will not be a problem. i failed my 1 hour glucose test than i ate a very low carb/low sugar diet for a week & passed the three hour test. could this be considered cheating the test? my 3 hour results were, 74 at fasting, 172 after an 1 hour, 125 at 2hours, & 105 at 3 hours?

: Yes the normal values for the test are established by having folks eat a normal diet (ask your Dr/Lab how they define this). So you have voided the results of the test.  How did you document that you were eating a very low carbsugar diet. The best way is to test your urine for ketones. So you need  to repeat the test if it is important for you and your baby (if pregnant).  And tell your Dr.

Lots: Lots of organic non-starchy vegetables. Adequate amounts of grass fed organic meats. Lots of water. Healthy fats such as coconut oil.
