Parkinson's : Parkinson's will make people move slower and slower.  It can also make them have trouble getting out of a chair or walking around. But by all means don't let them live the rest of their lives in a chair!  it is important to continue exercising as tolerated.  They will probably get tired, and won't be climbing as many steps as before, but i encourage them to do whatever they can. Exercise will help their parkinsons, and also help their heart.  As soon as people become chairbound, their cardiac health changes drastically. One thing to remember is that parkinson's medications can make people very sleepy -- they may sleep much more than before.

Most people: With graves' disease and hyperthyroidism will lose weight until their thyroid is controlled, however, since thyroid hormone stimulates food intake, some will lose weight while hyperthyroid. Mild exercise in moderation, making sure you're on beta blockers if indicated, and avoiding rapid heart rates, overheating and dehydration is still possible, but you may have some proximal muscle weakness.

Mental illness: There is much more of a social stigma about having a mental illness, and having a physical illness. Ask yourself, did you choose to have the mental illness, whatever it may be? Chances are the answer is no, much like the person with physical illness. Shame can be huge for people. Discuss it with a reputable psychotherapist.

Possible.: Not normal, but possible to lose a large amount of wt secondary to stress. Wt loss that increases progressively  or is accompanied by fevers, chills is worrisome.
