If you don't need revascularization yet via stents or surgery then lifestyle modifications and medication to prevent progression of the atherosclerosis is needed.

IT is not usually a first line drug and is only used during the procedure or for a few days after. IT is not used to treat or prevent coronary disease outside of the angioplasty setting
