Diet IBD: Best is to avoid seeds such as sunflower seeds etc. you should also avoid a lot of fiber as well. Fish oil , omega three and flax seed oil is usually helpful

Not definitively: ulcerative colitis is type of IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), while IBS is irritable bowel syndrome, which has no overt inflammation. Neither can be reliably diagnosed on radiographic studies, although bowel wall thickening or even stranding pattern can suggest an inflammatory condition (not IBS). If recent bowel habit changes, fever, blood, nausea, diarrhea, would suggest seeking MD evaluation

on my colon biopsy it shows benign colonic mucosa with moderately increased chronic inflammation in the lamina propria with an increase in lymphoid aggregates. the report also says no evidence of ibd or microscopic colitis. is this a normal finding?

: No. It is indicative of some inflammation in the area of biopsy. Pl ask and co-relate with the doc who did the procedure

Causativefactor same: Ibs does not lead to ibd  - interesting new observations that suggest that some of the factors causing IBS and ibd(crohn's and colitis) may be similar, involving the intestinal immune system and bacteria within the intestine. The great differences between IBS and ibd makes it unlikely that they are caused by identical processes.

my fecal calprotectin test, hs crp tests, cbc blood test, stool test are totally ok. can i still have ibd (crohn's or ulcerative colitis)?
because sometimes i see mucus in stool with smell. i had anal fissure 3 months ago?

IBD (Crohn's vs UC): Ibd (inflammatory bowel disease) includes a spectrum of disorders that result in gut inflammation with systemic manifestations.  Gut involvement in ulcerative colitis is limited to the lining of the colon whereas in crohn's disease there is transmural (full-thickness) inflammation that can involve any portion of the gut (from mouth to anus). Yes : If you have had upper and lower endoscopy with these diagnosis. U may even have had biopsies to confirm this. Ask ur GI doc for results, if they wr done.

Yes: Red meat is not harmful in patient swith colitis.  Excessive fiber intake, raw fruits and vegetables can cause an increase in diarrhea, cramping and bloating.

IBD: Perhaps there is some confusion inflammatory bowel disease(ibd)refers specifically to ulcerative colitis and crohn's diseasr. If a person has been informed that he or she has ibd then the diagnosis is either ulcerative colitis or crohn's.  Inflammation in the intestine caused  by infection or other causes may mimic ibd & thus not be either ulcerative colitis or crohn's.
