can a doctor explain to me how i keep testing abnormal and normal for trich? my partner did cheat on me last year but not no more. weve been treated and tested negative but now its backtwice alreadyand no he has not cheated?

: There are false positive rates for trichomonas test depending of site from which test was taken and type of test performed. So if you and your partner have no symptoms- suggest not to worry.

Get treated: This is a common problem. The vaginal discharge and other symptoms (especially odor) are similar for BV and trichomonas. Trich is a very sneaky STD:  it can show up months or even years after catching it. The important thing now is for you to be treated, and foryour partner to be treated for trich as well, even if he has no symptoms. Otherwise you will be reinfected when you resume sex with him.

Rather likely: That's how diseases are transmitted... by human contact with carriers of disease. Safest to treat all contacts and retest all contacts, before getting back in contact. Just common sense... so, until then, the pants should stay on.

: It may or it may not.
Usually if one receive treatment, his (her) sex partner should get it too although she (he) is asymptomatic.

Trichomonas: It is possible you to be diagnosed with trichomonas and your partner not. Once trichomomas is diagnosed based on wet mount on microscope, it is imperative to treat both partners at the same time.

Confirm diagnosis: If a person had one partner only, 10 years ago, and got trichomonas back then and got treated... it's possible that some trich survived and reproduced and stayed with her all this time. Ten years with no symptoms is a long time, but nobody knows who holds the world record for the longest number of years of having trich without symptoms. She can ask to retest now to confirm her current diagnosis.

This situations are: difficult to explain. Certainly, he might have trichomonas that he has had for sometime (before you got together); it would not be unusual if he tested negative--sampling problems, not enough material to test, etc. Many cases of trichomonas have no symptoms. Or you may have had it for some time and now symptoms appear. If trust has been earned, I wouldn't let this destroy relationship. Good wishes

Very unlikely: Trichomoniasis  is transmitted by fluid transmission. It is not known to be carried in someones mouth.

i was prescribed (14) metronidazol 500mg for trich can i share hese with my partner? can we both be completely cured with 7 pills each

There : There are two dosing regimens for trichomoniasis. One is metronidazol (flagyl) 2grams in one day.  Being treated for seven days is a more effective treatment.  Flagyl 250mg threes times a day for seven days or Flagyl 375mg orally twice a day for seven days.  Which ever way you do the math, if you split your meds you will not be adequately treated.
