i have the flu 3 days after getting two wisdom teeth pulled, will vomiting cause dry socket?

Accepted Answer

Not too likely.: Until the gums are healed completely, there will be some risk of dry socket occuring from sucking. But the real risk is within the first 48*-72* and if your gum is intact after that, and you avoid using a straw for the next couple of weeks, you'll be fine.

can you have the flu without a sore throat or a cough and would the results to a flu test show after two days?

Les likely w/o cough: A significant non-productive cough is one of the main features of a true influenza viral infection (the flu), along with abrupt onset of muscle aches, fever, fatigue.  Sore throat is not a necessary symptom of the flu, but lack of a cough makes it less likely.  Commercial tests for influenza virus, should be able to detect infection in two days, but they care not 100% accurate.

i drink 5 mugs of green tea daily for two months now &1 cup of coffee every day.i workout 5 days per week,eat healthy&drink plenty of water.i have the flu for a week now&still workout.today i felt my joints hurt&totally irritated,not expecting period?

: Get some rest and cut down on your intake of tea.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Fever free: Good rule of thumb with infectious diseases is you need to be fever free for 24 hours.  Just think of the golden rule - if you would be upset if someone else came to work in your condition, then you shouldn't be there either.

i am 21 weeks pregnant and have the flu, what medicine is safe to take please?

Pregnancy &amp; Flu: You will want to go to your OB and insure that you don't actually have influenza (the true flu) because that can be very dangerous in pregnancy and must be taken seriously.  If though, you are having a viral infection with congestion, sore throat, etc. as a general rule most over the counter cold medications without Ibuprofen or Aspirin are ok.  Your OB should have a list of safe meds for colds.

You may have both: A 2 day episode of sweating at night sounds like a viral upper respiratory tract infection.  Green nasal discharge may be the start of a viral rhino-sinusitis.  The general rule is that if you are getting worse after 5 days, an antibiotic is appropriate, and if you are not better in 10 days, an antibiotic should be considered.  Bottom line is if not better after 5 days see your physician.

how long after you've had the flu is it safe to start exercising again? i've heard that exercising while you have the flu is dangerous and can damage your heart, so when is it safe to start exercising again after your flu symptoms are gone?

Recovery parameters: You may begin exercising again when you have no fever, minimal fatigue, improved cough, no shortness of breath and minimal muscle aches. i have the flu and took alka-seltzer plus night severe cold & flu (1 fast relief mix in packets) about 5 mins ago. i breastfeed. is it safe to nurse?

Accepted Answer

Would not: There are certain meds in the cold and flu variety  Would not take this and breast feed. Will not hurt the child long term but might make the child irritable. Try to take nothing more than acetaminophen when breast feeding

is vitamin c capsule safe while on fluoxetine?, i have the flu, but don't want to use vitamin c seen that i'm on fluoxetine, should i take it, or not

No problem: Vitamin C should not interact negatively with fluoxetine. The better question is why are you taking Vitamin C? There are very few persons on a normal diet in the USA requiring vitamin supplements. Good luck.
