Many do: Application of heat in the form of warm compresses several times daily will often result in enough increased blood flow that the body heals itself. The site may come to a head & drain during the process. Soft cleaning of the area with a q-tip & thin soap solution  can prevent recurrence.

xalatan (latanoprost) question - do i have to keep the eye drops at room temperature?

Accepted Answer

No: Latanoprost, the generic name for xalatan, must be refrigerated to avoid breakdown of the molecule.  Xalatan, but not generic latanoprost, can be left at room temperature for up to a month.  There has been a lot of issues with generic latanoprost; so this is a drug that you must insist in getting the name-brand.

this is a follow up question i had a runny nose and i did what every person would do i sucked it up , would that have anything to do with the eye?

Possibly: Tear ducts from eyes drain into nasal passages; so infection or allergies can affects eyes as well as nose. Nasal saline spray should help nose; flush eyes with eye moisturizer. Allergy meds may help. If develop fever or purulent nasal discharge, see doc for exam & treatment.

Stye treatment: Usually sties resolve on their own with simple application of warm compresses (for 10-15 minutes 2-4 times a day) to bring stye to head & rupture (do not squeeze it). Recurrent sties may require antibiotics. If stye doesn't drain completely, then the doc may have to lance it (after using local anesthetic) to remove its contents & speed healing.

question about cataract surgery for my right eye.the cataract is advanced with 20/200 on the eye chart. after surgery, with a distance iol, would there be a big difference in clarity and colors, compared to the left eye , which is 20/50?
