Hematoma?: This sounds most like a large bruise, or hematoma. These can be quite tender and can sometimes be quite firm. The colors, in particular, sound like bruising. There are other possibilities depending on the exact appearance. If it is not rapidly changing and no other symptoms are present, it should be ok to observe for a few days. If you have drainage, severe pain, or any other symptoms, see pcp.

Sounds: like a cyst (one type=sebaceous cyst ot a LIPOMA (fatty tumor benign!)  Show it to a Medical professional. Most of the time these are easily removed if it is painful etc

reacuring boils of some sort on my left inner thigh. start as a soft bump then get hard and red/purple. when they bust they seem to just  bleed.

Boil: Recurring boils in the groin can be a condition that need treatment.  A few months of an oral or topical antibiotic can really help.  Until you get in to see your doctor, start using an antibacterial soap to bathe with.

Did your squeeze it?: If you did then the hard lump are white blood cells trying to scavenge the remaining bacterial breakdown products(pus). If you did not squeeze it, have a MD take a look and see what happened and if needed provide a Rx for topical use and antibiotics if severe.

Sounds like you have: a thigh furuncle or boil.  These things are result of an infected hair follicle, usually from bacteria, and sometimes it is result of a bad bacteria called Staph that can be very nasty.  You may end up having more infections in the general same area or other places on your body.  These boils generally have pus and blood, will heal on its own but occasionally will need antibiotics and/or surgery.

Purple bump: Could be a hemangioma, blood blister from trauma, venous lake.  Have it checked by a dermatologist.

Eventually,: as long as the skin is protected and is not repeatedly irritated by repeat friction and rubbing, but most skin injuries take months before color becomes more flesh colored.

sebaceous cyst: These tend to surface as a bump then grow deeper into the underlying tissue sometimes surface discoloration occurrs.

Possible Abscesses: It sounds like you may have some  folliculitis or abscesses with or without cellulitis.  You may need antibiotics and possible drainage of the abscesses if they are fully formed.  Analgesia like paracetamol and ibuprofen will help but also running hot soapy water as often as it is convenient and should help.  You should let a doctor take a look at it to make sure that it is not something else.

Red bump: Hi KavitaB, the red bump is likely a bug bite,  pimple, or blocked follicle. The 'spots' around it are from the tiny blood vessels surrounding the wound becoming engorged with blood to help with the healing process. If it goes away in a few days then no big deal. However, if the purple spots start to spread or if the red bump becomes larger, painful, or starts to ooze (pus), then go to your doctor
