red bump on my inner thigh i thought it was probably a boil, but it never came to a head, sank under the skin and now is flat and purple , 4 monthsnow?

sebaceous cyst: These tend to surface as a bump then grow deeper into the underlying tissue sometimes surface discoloration occurrs.

Boil: It may be gone, but since it is persisting i would have it seen by your doctor, make sure nothing further needs to be done or treated.
