: "Lesion" only means an abnormal spot of some kind, no matter where in the body. There are several possible causes of kidney lesions that might show up on an Xray, CT scan or MRI, and no way to even guess without a lot more information about symptoms, why testing was done, etc. Discuss with the doctor who ordered the test(s). : If you're not seeing a urologist for the following of this lesion, I strongly recommend that you do. This is a small lesion but some malignant growths start as small lesions and become more aggressive. For peace of mind get the best advice from a specialist.It may simply mean continuing followup CT scans or to have an MRI performed.

Cystic Kidneys: Cysts in the kidneys can replace/reduce functional kidney tissue and therefore cause kidney problems. There are a variety of types of Cysts and associated problems. Most infants with cystic kidneys can live a normal life and have normal life length. Follow up care will involve Dr visits to make sure that the kidneys continue working correctly.

: A low density lesion 0.6 cm in the kidney is usually a cyst and radiologist can make the call. If there is any doubt, radiologist will ask for an adjunct study such as ultrasound, CT with IV contrast or repeat the study in 3-6 months.
