Arteritis: You may be referring to temporal arteritis which is classically an inflammation of the temporal artery(other arteries may be involved) and typically manifested by scalp tenderness, temporal pain, jaw pain when chewing, and visual disturbances.

what causes a puffy face? i', not suffering from hypertension, try to keep my sodium level moderate, but my face is increasingly puffy.

Allergies?: There are many things that can cause a puffy face. If you are otherwise healthy the most common cause would probably be allergies. Please see your doctor for some testing to make sure that you do not have other problems as it could also something like a thyroid problem. If you do not then a trial of antihistamines may be helpful. Also I would try a very low sodium diet and avoid alcohol.

hypertension history. headaches since mon w/pn & press throbbing w/pulse. ha wed worst of life, splitting head, light/sound sensitive, nauseated, threw up 5x. could dehydration or acute htn be cause?

This is an emergency: Honestly, worst headache of life, that seems to be 10/10 in pain, could be a life-threatening headache. Things that are are life threatening: intracranial bleed and hypertensive emergency. Other causes may be migraine, dehydration, etc., but I would not risk it. I think the best thing to do is go to the ER, get your BP checked, and possibly a CT.

can 4 weeks usage of triamcinolone 0.1% creme cause extreme hypertension and vision issues? cream used on scalp, face, neck, shoulder, chest, back and legs daily. how long does it stay in your system?

Unlikely: The 0.1% is a very mild steroid, but if used on most of the face and body very often over 1 month, there is a very slight possibility of it causing those effects. Not sure what your reason for using the top med was, but suggest that you discontinue its use and see a dermatologist/internist/ ophthalmologist for an alternate type of tx as well as futher eval of your 2 problems.

Unlikely: Hypertension symptoms usually don't occur unless the blood pressure is significantly elevated, think blood pressure &gt;170/90 or so. Often times, mild hypertension in the setting of head pressure or headaches may be due to stress or physiology response to pain.

i often suffer with hypertension 130-140/90-100today i have bradicardia and head my bp was 130/100 and 1/2 hour later it was 110/70 should i take any?

Prehypertension.: While your numbers are a bit high at times, especially for your age, I would not advise treating these numbers with medications.  Do you exercise?  Are you overweight?  Do you eat healthy or more junk?  Have you had any blood testing by a doctor recently?  I'm  more curious about why such a young person has these high readings.

Unlikely to be due: to a high blood pressure, which you are being treated for, and head pressure or headaches, aren&#x27;t usually a symptom of uncontrolled hypertension, may be in severe cases. You can simply measure your blood pressure to make sure it is within normal range, take a pain killer, if still suffering, see your doctor to rule out eye, sinus problems, maybe tension headache, or any other cause, best wishes

May be unrelated: Feeling pulsations may be unrelated to high blood pressure. A primary care doctor should evaluate, and see if tests or referrals to specialists are needed. Sometimes pulsations are normal. Sometimes they are felt the the heart has stronger pumping, such as during or after exercise, or during a fever. Other times, one's blood vessels may relax and allow larger blood flow, leading to the sensations.

Not necessarily: Many people have hypertension without headaches but some do. Headaches can be caused by many conditions.

i have a sharp pain on the left side of my head (only when i cough ) and i have the worst case of hypertension?

Accepted Answer

Does not sound good: Chronic hypertension increases risks for heart attack and stroke via atherosclerosis which damages the vessel wall and possibily cause anerysm--see pic here. When we get sick--bad cold, sinus/ear infection can cause headaches, especially with coughing. But you mentioned nothing else and so I am a bit concerned. I would take some cough meds, consult doc for eval as soon as possible. Good luck.
