Yes,at proper doses: This med has been around for at lease 5 decades that I know of and is well tolerated by infants. The proper dos for size is well studied and on most produces.Like any good medicine, it is strong enough to do good, but used wrong, can do harm.

my infant son was sent home from daycare due to them thinking he has ringworm on his face. he has eczema and has been using a pacifier that has been rubbing the spot where the ringworm is. it did get slightly better with eczema cream. is it ringworm?

Unknown: Depends on whether the "non-immunized" child succumbs to disease and how resistant your child is to that disease.

Daycare: For the illnesses that we typically immunize for at 2 months your baby really isn't at increased risk over just one week.  "Herd immunity" - as long as other parents are getting their kids immunized decreases your baby's risk of exposure there decreases the likelihood of getting one of those serious infections.

is it too late to start a routine for baby at 7 weeks old? i'm consistent with feedings but fail at everything else. she starts daycare next week.

"Fail?": I was moved to answer because you said you "fail at everything else". Your baby is only 7 weeks old, a brand new human being with his/her own personality that you have been trying to learn how to care of. I also understand your anxiety about leaving her in daycare. Nope: You can start a routine now but please be flexible as babies need for sleep, feeding, and bowel/bladder will change and go through changing phases.  Daycare will also help to start some routine.  Look to the daycare providers on time honored tips and routine as they are often skilled in the care of infants.  Treasure your time with your baby as it goes by quickly!

what are some good tips for transitioning my baby to daycare?

Practice with others: If you are the main caregiver, it is wise to allow your baby to spend some time with other people (a grandparent or friend). This will help to ease the transition to his/her care with a less familiar individual. Also, if you are breast feeding, be sure to slowly introduce your baby to taking a bottle for ease of transitioning to bottle feeding well before your baby will leave the home.

is it normal for my baby to get sick from other kids in daycare?

Yes: For the first 6 months of daycare, children do tend to catch many colds. It's inevitable and yes, a normal part of being in daycare. It is merely a function of being exposed to many other children who will unknowingly spread viruses before they become sick themselves. Be proactive by making sure your baby is eating and sleeping well and is up to date on all his immunizations.

should i feel guilty about going back to work and leaving my baby at the daycare?

We all do...: We all feel guilty when we leave our babies and must return to work, but you should not!
we work in order to provide for our kids and give them diverse opportunities. Keep these things in mind. You are not a "bad" mom because you work and your baby is in day care. 
Make the most of your time at home with him and if you find working full time unbearable, see if your company offers flex scheduling.
