If not helping, see an eye doctor as one might need to have the lesion opened and they are the best doctors to take care of this.  Antibiotics are generally only needed when a sty has turned into a more severe infection.

A few options: Stye is commonly used to describe a chalazion, an inflammed meibomian gland of the eyelid.  A chalazion that has recently developed can be treated with warm compresses and possibly oral and/or topical antibiotics.  A long-standing chalazion may need an incision and drainage from an ophthalmologist.  I recommend an eye exam to determine the best treatment.

I would suggest you use hot packs consisting of a warm wash cloth or put a small potato in the microwave for one minute and then place that inside a wet wash cloth and put this on the stye for 10  minutes per day until the stye disappears.  Alternatively, see an ophthalmogist for a prescription drop.

A : A stye is simply an inflamed oil gland in the eyelid.  These are rarely infected and antibiotics usually don't help much.  Warm compresses and gently massage help.  Try putting a potato in the microwave for a couple of minutes and wrap a warm wet wash cloth around that.  It will hold the heat longer than a wash cloth that was held under the hot water.

Not advisible: A stye is an infection. Prednisolone could potentially make the infection worse as it reduces your body's ability to fight infection. Hot compresses are the best treatment for a stye. Better still, see your eye doctor to confirm the diagnosis and get the correct treatment.

Likely staph: Styes are often triggered by staph germs which enter the oil glands at the base of the eyelash.A kid with recurrent styes, is either a staph carrier or is exposed to it in her environment.This can include other family that have styes or  pustules  or a warm blooded pet.

Inflammation: Styes cause inflammation which dilates blood vessels, resulting in release of histamine, which causes itching. Make a hot pack with a sock filled with rice, zap in the microwave for 30 seconds and gently place on lids for 10 minutes.  It may swell more then drain.  If not see an eyemd for a minor procedure called chalazion incision and drainage.
