Likely staph: Styes are often triggered by staph germs which enter the oil glands at the base of the eyelash.A kid with recurrent styes, is either a staph carrier or is exposed to it in her environment. This can include other family that have styes or pustules or a warm blooded pet.

Stye (hordeolum): A stye (hordeolum) is usually caused by an infection with staphylococcus bacteria. These bacteria often live on the skin without causing any harm. They can at times get into the ducts and block them and cause an inflammatory infectious reaction, resulting in the stye.
