See below: Better fitting shoes that do not cause friction at the area is a start. If a deformity such as a hammertoe or spur is present, this will also have to be addresssed. See podiatrist.

Callus care: I am not sure, but it sounds like you may be talking about a callus that has formed on the outside of the pinky toe.  This is a problem that many have.  If you are healthy, i would recommend you use a good exfoliating foot cream and use a pumice stone on it about every other day...Back off on treating if it gets sore.  Otherwise, see a podiatrist.

Very common: We call this a soft corn or Heloma Molle.
Make sure your shoes are not too narrow.
I don't recommend the over the counter meds. 
If changing shoes doesn't help, see a Podiatrist

Time: It will heal in a week or 2. Try to go easy on it until you have nice, new skin there. The new skin will soon be tougher.

Ingrown toenail: Start soaking 3x/day and apply topical neosporin.  If it does not improve in a few days then see your doctor

Corn on toe: Basic problem that must be removed is pressure on the toes from poorly fitting shoes (e.g. Pointy toed high heels). Wear footwear with adequate toebox & compound w should do the trick of softening & removing corn. Caution: diabetics, people with poor foot circulation should not use such treatments as they can cause ulcers & lead to infections. If above suggestions don't work, see podiatrist.

why does the callus on my pinky toe get red when standing or sitting and what can i do about it? it's been like this for a month and it doesn't seem to get better. i did have a heavy foot pedicure, could that be the cause? it doesn't seem infected?

: Does it get less red when not standing/sitting? I fit stays red, you should have a doctor look at it. If it gets red but then gets less red, it could be when there is increased blood flow, it gets a bit red but then returns to normal color. If there is any pain associated with it, see your doctor. See a foot doc: You get the callous due to friction. If you can elimikinate the friction or that which is rubbing you can solve your problem once and for all.
