Dose by weight: The recommended dose range is 10-15 mg/ kg (2.2lb). There can be a wide range in weight at 5 mo. A 16 lb (7.3kg) kid would get 73-110 mg. You need to verify the concentration of the medicine you are using and work out the dose. It can be repeated after 4 hours.

Unfortunately : Unfortunately there are no over the counter medications that treat cough and chest congestion in a 5 month old. For this reason it is important to bring the baby in for an evaluation of their symptoms. Prescription medications can be prescribed as deemed necessary. 
A few things you can do for babies this age is to put a humidifier or cool mist vaporizer where the baby sleeps, use pediatric salt drops (peds ocean spray) for nasal congestion, and tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed for fever, pain, and irritability (indicator of pain).

is febrex plus syrup good for infant(4-5 month old) to get rid of cold?

No: Colds are caused by viruses. Colds have no cure and are self limiting. Aim is to make the infant / child comfortable. Febrex plus syrup has paracetamol(safe) an antihistamine called chlorpheniramine( not safe)  and an oral nasal decongestant phenylephrine(not safe). This combination shd be avoided in infants and children. Can cause dryness, sedation, irritability at times and high BP.

Doutful: Children under the age of 12 months are at risk for Botulism is they eat honey (especially raw honey) because their digestive systems can't hand the spores. About 20 percent of  botulism cases involve honey or corn syrup.

Many things help: You can put a humidifier in the room (cool mist is best), raise the head of the crib a few inches,  and a number of other things depending on what the cause is.  Problems in babies can look different from one day to the next.  If there is trouble breathing, poor feeding, irritability or fever, see your pediatrician again.
