You might also consider replacing the word exercise with "play, " "run around, " or "move."  enjoyment helps one lose lbs.

Things like these may seem small and silly, but the increased calorie burn can add up over time. Don't forget a healthy diet!

Yoga and exercise: Yoga is a great form of exercise for stress reduction, strength and increasing flexibility. Instead of weights and cardio you might want to focus on core strengthening exercises.  Try pilates, belly dancing, ballet barre or other forms of dance to improve your core strength.

Bad plan: 2 hours of exercise per day is excessive and cutting calories on top of it will only lead to short term weight loss before your metabolism slows down for self preservation.  At 41, you are also risking overuse injuries with that much exercise.  You should aim for 1/2-1 pound per week and exercise smarter and more efficiently at higher intensity for shorter duration.

Research : Research shows that moderate exercise to heavy exercise will not adversely affect your chances of getting pregnant. Moderate exercise can be described as exercise and heavy breathing with the ability to have a conversation. Heavy exercise - exercise and heavy breathing with ability to have a conversation, but would rather not speak due to the hard work. If you are having a regular period with your new exercise routine, then you are ovulating, and should be able to get pregnant. If your exercise routine has changed your menstrual cycle or cause you to skip a period, then think about taking it down a notch.
Also, staying active during your pregnancy will help you be healthier and has been known to promote better rest, decrease nausea, have more energy and a healthier labor. Keep up the good work, as long as you are still having regular periods.

No impact best: In general no impact exercise elliptical/bicycle or swimming is the best to help reduce weight.  Swimming is overall best for heart health and overall muscle strengthening.  Happy new you!

Weight loss: It takes ~3500cal burned in excess of intake to lose a pound. If you burn 500 a day more than you intake you can lose a pound a week, or 40 weeks to 40lb. To do 3lb a week you'd have to burn 1500cal a day more than you ingest. That would be very difficult. Doing 40lb in the summer likely is wishful.
