20-30 minutes: Ibuprofen takes about 20-30 minutes to be effective.  You can take 800 mg every 6 hours if needed.  It works great for inflammation.  Taken with Tylenol it reduces most pain. You can add 1000 mg of acetaminophen to your dose if you are hurting a lot.  The two work really well together to stop pain!  Hope this helps!

: Benadryl and advil cold &amp; sinus are for symptomatic relief so it depends on what predominant symptom(s) you want to treat. If you just want to alleviate the mucus and want to sleep then you take benadryl which does not have aching relieved effect. If aching and congestion are the main symptoms, then you should take advil cold and sinus. Wish you have a quick recovery.

No: Insomnia is not its known side effect, although the'pm"part  is benadryl (diphenhydramine)... Which can sometimes cause an opposite reaction(excitation instead of sedation). You can check this out by taking the regular advil(not the pm-kind).

can i take advil after stopping levaquin for a sinus infection ? i know youre not supposed to mix the two but i took my last dose 20 hours ago.

Advil/levaquin: The reaction that I could find is that the combo may increase your risk of seizures.   Generally that is only of concern in a patient with a seizure history taking medications.    Since your last dose was 20 hours ago or more  - I don't see an issue with taking Advil now.
