Ragweed season: Depends on the part of the country you're in. Generally, however, it runs from mid-july until the first hard frost.

Don't worry about it: I don't know if any body has taken it over the rockies.  But it is not supposed to be in california.  If some body did take it over then it should still bloom around august 15th .In areas of no frost in southern california, it would behave  like in southern florida where it blooms again in the end of april.

See details: Try an antihistamine such as Zyrtec, Claritin or Allegra on a daily basis. Better yet use a nasal spray such as Flonase on a daily basis.

Lotion: Make sure you are not putting any lotions around your eyes. This is the time of year for sunblock, which is notorious for causing styes. * let me know. I hope this helps.

: In the northern hemisphere it usually starts in November and ends in the Spring in April if not sooner. There is usually some strain of flu circulating around the globe continuously, aided by patients with no symptoms and easy air travel. Flu seasons cluster around time of our fall &amp; winter holidays when people congregate in groups.

: The symptoms and duration of influenza are no different from year to year, except that after vaccination or repeat infection with the same strain of virus tend to be milder. Basically various combinations of sore throat, sniffles, cough, headache, fever and body aches. Without treatment (e.g. Tamiflu if you have the type A flu virus), duration usually is 7-10 days. Get vaccinated ever year!

over the holiday season i was with family members, 2 of which have been confirmed covid positive in the last week.

currently i am not presenting any significant symptoms. recommendations?

COVID 19:  Quarantine. In South Africa a medical provider will determine need for COVID 19 testing.  Consult your local primary care provider or you can use telemedicine for individual consultations. There are a number of free apps to look at your risk.  Testing might not be approved if you remain asymptomatic.

Allergies: Seasonal patterns sounds more like a seasonal allergy rather than a "yearly" and "seasonal" infection. I do not like the fever part of the equation unless you are simply feeling hot and assuming you have a fever which could be a side effect of a revved up immune system reacting to the pollens to which you are allergic.

Yes: The antibodies generated by seasonal flu vaccine will last for years against the strains in the vaccine.People get confused about protection, because in a given season, the vaccine can only cover 3-4 strains, while there may be a new  strain emerg that is not in the vaccine.Waiting until late in the fall only increases your risk you will be unprotected against an early exposure.
