See details: Try an antihistamine such as Zyrtec, Claritin or Allegra on a daily basis. Better yet use a nasal spray such as Flonase on a daily basis.

Congestion?: You may try an antihistamine-decongestant combination and/or Nasacort (triamcinolone) AQ spray which is now OTC- the latter takes several days to work well but is likely more effective in the long run. If the symptoms are not controlled by the above, consider running a HEPA filter or AC in the bedroom as a temporary measure (not usually practical for the whole house) . Can't you find an allergist in Portland
