How long will flu season last?

In the northern hemisphere it usually starts in November and ends in the Spring in April if not sooner. There is usually some strain of flu circulating around the globe continuously, aided by patients with no symptoms and easy air travel. Flu seasons cluster around time of our fall & winter holidays when people congregate in groups.
