A few days: Angioedema, or the swelling in your face and/or neck caused by certain medications, typically resolves within 7-10 days after you stop the medication but may last up to 4-6 weeks. Go to the er immediately if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or swelling in your throat.

Lip: Ice packs, Sleep propped up on two pillows, ibuprofen. Swelling will slowly go down over 3-5 days. Av.oid fighting

Latex allergy may be a concern.

Time: Time is the best healer of an allergic reaction.   Supportive treatment with anti-histamine medications such as diphenhydramine (benadryl) also helps.  Also, drink plenty of fluids.

Lip swelling: Asymmetric lip swelling (bottom &gt; top) is certainly suspicious for angioedema, which I assume is new for her.  If new, she is likely having a reaction to something (eg food or medication).  Since angioedema can progress rapidly to involve the throat and breathing, and since the antihistamine is not helping,

I have to recommend going to the ER.

is IB ibuprofen?  probably won't help.

Varies: The half life is the calculated time for half of a drug to leave your system. This drug can take as long as 22 hrs to get rid of 1/2 (less for some people). In theory it takes 5-6 1/2 lives to remove it all which ~ 5 days.  Please report this to your doc so this can be recorded in your records. The real scary reactions happen within minutes/hours. You should be fine.
