A member asked:

How long should it take for lip swelling to go down from allergic reaction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About 2 wks: Lip swelling from allergy can be a serious condition and one of the early manifestations of anaphylactic shock.. A life threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention. Less severe reactions of the contact type can be painful and of great concern and also may be treated. Antihistamines help as does heat to the area to increase blood circulation. Latex allergy may be a concern.
