how long does it take for alcohol induced acute gastritis to recover? clear liquid diet for 7d, still epigastric pain. is it better to advance to full liquid or bland soft diet and tolerate pain/bloating, or to stay on clear liquid diet for longer?

: I wonder if you are taking medication for neutralizing gastric acidity. If you have not taken anything you can take either famotidine (Pepcid AC) or omeprazole (Prilosec OTC) and advance diet to bland soft diet. You can also advance the diet if already taking acid suppression medication but you should consider changing the medication. You should talk to your family or GI doc. Take care!

can you clarify why some people take longer to get alcohol out of system, such as etg test? why do some people test positive up to 80 hours?

Genetics: We all have differences from each other due to genetics, including gender and nutrition. The rates at which various chemicals, including alcohol, are metabolized, vary among people and explains how long after the last drink etg may be detectable.
Alcohol is a poison and you should abstain.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

how long after taking 1 mg of ativan can i consume alcohol? i did not take any yesterday and no longer feel the effects of todays (5 hours ago)

Ativan: I would recommend waiting 12 hours before mixing alcohol with ativan.. There is still some risk with driving even after 12 hours. Bottom line: don't drink alcohol when taking ativan and then drive.

Should be ok: If your last drink of alcohol was 3hrs ago, should be fine to take.

is nizatidine safe to take longer than 6weeks? can i drink alcohol if on this medication?

Nizatidine &gt; 6 Weeks: Nizatidine is generally safe to take for longer than 6 weeks. But, if you need to take it for 6 weeks or longer, your symptoms probably indicate that you should be under a doctor's care. If you're not, check in with your doctor. You can have an occasional drink, but alcohol will make your GI symptoms worse  which is counter productive as to why you're taking the nizatidine.

i rarely take xanax (alprazolam) for anxiety, but yesterday i took 1.5mg over the course of the entire day. it's been 24 hours can i drink alcohol? or wait longer?

That depends: On other factors as well.  Also are you presently on any other medications?   Is drinking = 1 beer or a six pack?   More information needed.  Hope this helps.

Alcohol is moderate amount(1 or 2 drinks / once weekly) is safe provided you stay within your limits and not over- do it.

No problem: This amount of alcohol will have no effect at all on healing of your chlamydial infection.

How fast can you...: ... Drink the stuff? If you get blotto, your liver cells will leak enzymes into your bloodstream. Now, the good news is that your liver is a fantastic healer (grows back faster than hair.) generally, if you drink a six-pack of beer or less daily, you're unlikely to get cirrhosis, but drink a quart of whiskey daily and you may get hepatitis at any time or cirrhosis in a few years.

In general, hours...: It is hard to tell how long it takes for alcohol to leave a particular person's body, but in general, it's about 1 hour for each drink. Some people get a higher blood alcohol level (bac) than other people do, despite the same number of drinks, so will take hours longer to return to normal. So, a bac of 0.08 will take 5 hours to go away, dropping 0.016 per hour, and bac of 1.0 will take 6.25 hours.
