Blood cultures positive after 48 hours of incubation must be viewed a possible contaminants if drawn from a venipuncture (but not from a central line).

Dental abscess: A dental abscess can not be completely treated at home.  If a dentist can see you today that would be ideal. If not they may be able to prescribe an antibiotic and/or pain killer as a short term solution. In the mean time keep this tooth clean with gentle brushing and warm salt water rinses. Avoiding sweet and sticky foods should help as well. Good luck.

No: You won't be contagious to anyone even if it is MRSA.  MRSA is everywhere in the community these days..its normal flora.  If you feel well enough..go to work.

By learning how to properly take care of your teeth daily, you can stop further occurrences. Ask your dentist and dental hygienist to take the time to teach you how you personally need to manage yourself day to day. That is the best solution.

The MRSA epidemic: There are some very good websites (this would take up pages of information) on where to find MRSA in your environment and how to clean for it. There is also some evidence that the mucous in your nasal passages may be infected and this is often treated with intra-nasal medications.

You are okay now: Armpit and other abscesses aren't all that catching to others. The bugs that cause them are generally normal skin bugs that get out of control somehow. Stay clean and especially with the antibiotics you need not worry about making your partner sick
