I have an abscess that resulted from a cyst rupturing. they are soon labs to see if it is mrsa should i stay home from work until i get results?

No: You won't be contagious to anyone even if it is MRSA. MRSA is everywhere in the community these days..its normal flora. If you feel well enough..go to work.

Still draining?: I assume "they" are medical people who drained your abscess and took a culture. If it oozed white/yellow pus-like material, it is very likely to be MRSA. Whether to stay home or not...is it still draining? See the doc. Are you on antibiotics? How painful is it? Can you walk, sit, drive, and do your job? If it has stopped draining and is getting better, keep it clean and covered and go to work!
