The MRSA epidemic: There are some very good websites (this would take up pages of information) on where to find MRSA in your environment and how to clean for it. There is also some evidence that the mucous in your nasal passages may be infected and this is often treated with intra-nasal medications.

You're colonized: You should try to get decolonized to prevent the recurrent infections. First try nasal Bactroban Ointment twice a day with hibiclens soap daily showers and shampoos for 10 days. If that doesn't work try oral antibiotic treatment with Doxycycline or septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) plus Rifampin and repeat the bactroban/hibiclens treatment at the same time.
