HIV virus: Hiv is extremely sensitive to fluctuations in temperature.Outside of the human body, the virus dies within minutes. The one place that HIV has been shown to survive for extended periods of time (several days) is in needles used with syringes; the needles frequently contain enough blood to prevent the HIV from drying out.

Did you get tested?: Do you know if you are HIV positive? If you do not, get tested. The course of HIV is variable and it is not feasible to tell if you got infected, and if you did when the symptoms may occur. See this site for more info.

: Asking the same question multiple times does not change the answer. Hep A would not affect HIV test result. On a correctly done 4th gen HIV test, a negative result at 7 months essentially rules out HIV.

: You should be fine. The 4th generation HIV test has very high sensitivity, almost 100%, it only missed 0.3%, i.e. it misses 3 out of 1,000 tests. Please note that no medical test has 100% sensitivity.

Of course, we commoners don't have glass slides at home.

Not long: Viruses are critters which live inside cells and must have nutrients of a cell to remain alive.  Most will die rapidly after leaving the body unless retained in body fluids within cells in those fluids.  This takes varying times to resolve.  As a general rule HIV is not transmittable casually.  It needs direct tissue contact.  Blood, shared needles, sex, organ transplant.

Depends: It depends on what you mean by dormant.  Blood tests are generally positive within a few weeks of infection, and many people develop temporary symptoms during acute infection. I don't think so: I'm not aware of any reason to believe that dried blood presents a risk.

Meds/barriers: There are not any guarantees but there are some things you can do to minimize the risk to partners. First, be honest with them about your status. Take medications regularly, if your viral load is non-detectable there is less risk of transmission. Always use  barrier protection with latex. Good luck to you.
