Dry Socket Paste: The application of dry socket paste helps treat alveolitis (inflammation of the bone at the extraction site). It can last from a few days to more than a week. An unfortunate complication following tooth extraction.

See your dentist NOW: Dry sockets are treated with iodoform gauze on a daily basis until the tissue granulates in to protect the raw exposed bone. In my experience it can take up to two weeks for the tissue to granulate in so that the gauze is not needed. Please see your dentist/os to prevent other problems.

Dry Socket Pain.: Dry sockets can be very painful, lasting a few weeks.  Severe headaches can happen as well.  You should contact the doctor that did the extractions and hopefully have the areas packed to get some relief, otherwise you will be trying to kill the pain with pain meds that are likely not to help too much.  Once healed, you should be fine, but it can take some time.

i got a tooth extracted monday morning and haven't smoked since last friday. can i smoke without risking a dry socket?

No: It may be fine, but depending on the nature of the procedure, previous infection, location of extraction, the risks are not 0%.  Try to refrain as long as possible.

Large dose: That is a high dose. Probably not since I don't know your weight, other medications and other medical factors. A dry socket can be treated with local measures by dentist/oral surgeon that will take care of most or all of the pain without meds (packing socket with analgesic medication).
Call dentist/oral surgeon to discuss.

: Dry sockets after extractions are not very common. The usual issue is that the patient ignores post operative instructions and rinses and/or gargles incessantly thinking that it is necessary to keep the wound clean. Avoid rinsing, gargling or brushing the wound for at least 24-48 hours to prevent dislodging the blood clot. That should help avoid the problem.

Aspirin effect: Aspirin use irreversibly blocks the formation of thromboxane A2 in platelets, producing an inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation during the lifetime of the affected platelet (8–9 days). So you better wait that period till your body manufacture new platelets
