can someone tell me how long will dry socket packing last?

Depends on material: Some dry socket packings should be changed every few days, others are meant to last until the socket starts to heal. Best thing is to contact the person who did the extractions.

Probably: I don't see why not. Ask the dentist who is actually treating you for the dry socket just to be sure.

Yes but: Why ? Are you going to put it back and how will you tell if it is healed to a point where you no longer need the packing? Please see your dentist.
