Similar, minor diffe: The long term side effects are numerous depending on the individuals, duration, and dose.  Major ones: Osteoporosis, cataract, diabetes, hypertension, adrenal suppression (stop working altogether) . Some may have glaucoma. Weight gain at the belly and face, acne etc. Some immune suppression can be expect with high doses for months.
Prednisone has less sodium-retention effects (less low potassium)

Either should be OK: If the dose is adjusted properly, either hydrocortisone or prednisone can be used for Addison's disease, keeping in mind that prednisone is about 5 times as potent.  Prednisone has the advantage of a longer half life so twice a day works well.  For hydrocortisone, some people need to take it 3 times a day to avoid having symptoms of fatigue for part of the day.

Anxiety: High dose prednisone may accentuate anxiety,restlessness,irritability and sleeplessness due to a stress response. I would expect onset of these side effects by 5 hours but they can last many hours.

Do you have your asthma meds (glucocorticoid &amp; beta-2 agonist inhalers?). Talk to your doctor. It may be OK to either stop or lower the dose for the rest of the course of prednisone. Yes.: Chronic high dose steroid adminstration is an animal model for accelerated again: osteoporosis, thin skin, loss or muscle on the extremities, weight gain on the middle, diabetes, ashd, increased blood pressure, cataracts, thinning hair, etc. I believe they should be used only as low dose as possible for the shortest period possible. Streroids save many lives when used properly.
