i have really bad breath after adenoid removal. what can i do?

See your dentist: Just trying to use mouth washes and breath mints may temporarily help, but i would see your dentist to get a definitive way of helping you.  You may require additional dental cleanings or need to be educated in proper hygiene.

is there any evidence that overbreathing can cause adenoid hypertrophy and/or can breath re training shrink the adenoid?

Complex question: If you mean overbreathing through the nose, by the time air reaches the adenoid, it has been cleansed of most contaminants and is at body temperature.  Therefore the act of nasal inhalation would have no effect on the size of the adenoid in children.  The adenoid is a lympho-epithelial structure that usually atrophies with age.  I do not think that any training would effect the size of adenoid.

Tonsillectomy heals: It is very common for the breath to smell foul while recovering after tonsillectomy.  The odor should resolve once the throat has healed.  Discuss it with your surgeon if symptoms are excessive, prolonged or concerning.

severe sleep apnea from brain forgetting to send signal to breath and enlarged tonsil and adenoid/over weight/ 1 year old any suggestions or options?

Start with CPAP: In an adult with severe sleep apnea, CPAP or continuous positive airway pressure, is the best option.  Once you are able to establish good compliance (goal would be at least 7 hours of sleep with machine every night) you may find it easier to exercise, eat healthy and loose weight. Your surgical risk will also go down when/if you get your tonsils and adenoids removed - if you are using CPAP prior.

Adenoids: You can try shrinking the adenoids by using a steroid nasal inhaler twice a day.

Some basics: Tonsils &amp; adenoids grow faster than the kid, especially when stimulated by infections. These can pre-dispose the kid to sleep problems due to a narrowed airway but these need to be verified before major surgery. Brief pauses of up to 10 sec are common in toddler sleep. Longer may indicate sleep apnea &amp; benefit from surgery. I'd get an ENT evaluation &amp; sleep study.

Gingivostomatitis: The different diagnosis with this constellation is varied. Bacterial verses viral.The blisters on the tongue point to a viral cause.  Recommend seeing your pediatrician for assessment especially as blisters can be quite painful babies often will refuse to drink and can get dehydrated.

my two year old had tubes  placed and his adnoids removed on tuesday. he is now throwing up and has a rash on his bodyand bad breath?

Bad breath normal: If he's on antibiotics the rash is from a reaction. The bad breath is very common and sometimes horrific. It is temporary!

it has been a year since i noticed that my sense of smell is reduced. my dr prescribed nasonex (mometasone) and steam inhalation. any advice?

Sinus infection?: Chronic sinusitis is a common cause for loss in smell and taste function and would be significant nasal congestion.  Nasonex (mometasone) may not work on all cases and thus you may need an alternate approach.  If problem persists despite restoration of nasal patency (able to breathe through nose freely), I would consider a CT sinus
