is eliquis 5 mg twice daily still effective for me if i am an untra rapid metabolizer or could i require it taken 3 times ? is it possible it isnt reaching peak anti coagulant affect due to being metabolized so quickly ?

is it safe to have one shot of toreador while on eliquis, lexapro & prednisone? the doc. knows the meds i'm on, i'm just wanting to be extra sure?

: Expect a transient spike in blood sugar as the beverage contains sugar syrup. Alcohol content may lower or raise blood sugar. Prednisone raises blood sugar. Eliquis &amp; lexapro shouldn't be affected by one shot. One shot only? Since you're not a brittle diabetic, it shouldn't be a problem.

my doctor prescribe eliquis.i began to bruise for no reason soon after.the doctor checked all clotting factors/times, everything is in the normal range.he didnt adjust dose after the results. yet i still bruise for no reason.should i be worried?

Bruise : If the bruise is minimal I would not worry but if they become worse you need to see your doctor again

tested positive for covid 2 weeks ago. now have blood in snot, both bright red and brown and a little blood streak in phlegm. still no sense of smell, still coughing, tired, but no fever. should i get this checked? i am on eliquis?

COVID 19: It is not uncommon to have blood streaked phlegm or nasal drainage (even if not on  anticoagulant). Your symptoms are classic for a COVID 19 infection. If  sx's remain mild, assessment is not mandated. Get urgent care for difficulty breathing, blue lips /face, persistent significant chest pain/ pressure or new onset confusion.

my husband is 38 and got diagnosed with renal artery thrombosis. all necessary blood test came out normal so we still dont know the cause of the blood clot. he is on eliquis 5mg bid. can eliquis cause high bp in the range of 145/105 usually?

on apixaban,bumped head 5 days ago lightly.had ct the next day all clear. ever since, still dealing with a headache & neck ache & a bit of dizziness. do i need another ct scan? at what point am i considered to be in the clear? days or weeks?

: Your symptoms are consistent with post concussion syndrome and they usually fade away in couple of weeks. In case symptoms persist for more or worsen you should seek medical attention.

: Eliquis is used to prevent blood clots and may not always be the correct choice for some patients but generally works quite well in the majority of patients.  I am not aware per se of the development of resistance as we see in drugs like antibiotics.  If it does not work for you for whatever reason there are other medications in this category of anticoagulants to use.

: It’s a little more complicated than it seems. Start with the pharmacist suggesting cheaper options based on your insurance’s formulary coverage. Take the list to your current prescriber that would be able to suggest options based on condition being treated and your history.
