Eliquis is used to prevent blood clots and may not always be the correct choice for some patients but generally works quite well in the majority of patients. I am not aware per se of the development of resistance as we see in drugs like antibiotics. If it does not work for you for whatever reason there are other medications in this category of anticoagulants to use.
