I : I have found that yellow teeth whiten the best and show the most dramatic difference.  Greyish teeth do not whiten as well.  If you never whitened your teeth before, you will also see a more dramatic difference.

Variable: Whitening toothpaste serves to whiten stained teeth but will have little effect on the natural tooth color.

Tooth whitening: I see no problem with using a professionally administered or dispensed whitening system. We don&#x27;t really use lasers but very bright lights and it has be shown to be no more effective than non-laser treatments. It&#x27;s more the concentration and length of time in contact with the teeth.

: First of all clean your teeth well with a good commercial toothpaste. Secondly get your teeth professionally cleaned regularly. Thirdly, you can't enjoy a cup of tea through a straw. Now ask your dentist for his advice.

They don't: Coffee has the ability to stain your teeth not whiten your teeth.  Soda, which is very acidic, can lead to microporosities in your enamel which can actually pick up stain.  You should not brush your teeth for 30 minutes after drinking anything aicidic.

Yes: But over the counter products are not going to help much.  Go see your dentist and talk to them about options to make your smile the best it can be.

Whitening : Whitening is a soft science and results can vary.  The nature of your internal tooth color will affect the end result.  Without any promise or guarantee it is possible that they will return to the original color or even whiter!

No: Soda should not cause gum recession. But overzealous use of the whitening gel could. By not following the stated directions you my have caused irreversible damage. Please see a local dentist for evaluation... recession can also result from brushing too hard or grinding. Exposed roots may be sensitive or decay faster than enamel covered surfaces.

what is the best way to completely whiten my teeth and fix them that is not too expensive? i for years ate lemons and lots of hot spicy foods and my teeth are now stained yellow and are brittle with mini cracks in them.  also my inner mouth is peeling all

I : I think this might be a better question for a dentist and probably will require an oral examination.  There are a few conditions such as lichen planus that can affect the oral mucosa and cause white patches.  Also, are you a smoker? This certainly would put you at risk for oral cancer (such as squamous cell carcinoma).  Read more about lichen planus at the link below.
