i have high levels of vitamin b6 and b1.  i don't take vitamin b supplements and my multi vit has 3.2mg of b6 in it. suggestions on why it's high?

Check your diet: Some foods conatin high level of vitamins b6 and b1.  Cod, salmon, halibut, trout, tuna and snapper; chicken, turkey, beef, and pork; bell peppers, spinach, baked potatoes (skin included), green peas, yams, broccoli, asparagus and turnip greens are just some examples of fish which contain high levels of b6. Eating vitamin b2-enriched cereals, red meats or leafy vegetables, you can get vitamin b2.

Many sources: Major sources of vitamin b6 include cereal grains, legumes, vegetables (carrots, spinach, peas, and potatoes), milk, cheese, eggs, fish, liver, meat, and flour. Pyridoxine is frequently used in combination with other b vitamins in vitamin b complex formulations.

Not a problem: I presume that this is because you are ingesting a large amount of b6, probably through supplements but perhaps via diet. B6 is not hazardous unless you take large amounts for a long time, generally 250 mg/day or more, or it may cause neuropathy. High levels just mean you have more than most people but is not dangerous.

Why?: Why did you test for it? And why did you start it?
It is a water soluble vitamin so you can reduce the dose to normal range.

Need more info: What was result of testing? All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if you taking a regular mixed diet you are neither deficient nor with toxicity from B6.

Unlikely, need info: First, I don't know the Reference range of the lab and don't know if they measured Pyridoxal 5' Phosphate (P5P) or Pyridoxic Acid. Most labs have a P5P normal range up to 50, so 58 is a mild elevation not known to cause problems. Low Alkaline Phosphatase or phosphoethanolamine could cause high P5P. 
B6 only known to cause toxicity if taking at least 200 mg/day.

i have muscle twitches, which could be due to my high vitamin b6 levels (249 vs max 110). how can i decrease these levels? and which foods to avoid?

Stop worrying: Everyone gets muscle twitches from time to time, and usually we never find the explanation. The reference range for B6 simply defines population norms and several percent of healthies by definition fall outside. Any relationship would probably be seeing faces in the clouds. If the twitches do not disable you, I'd urge you to ignore them and increase your aerobic fitness paticipation.
