my son is a hie grade 1 does it means he will be mentally i'll or disturbed?pls help i'm worried.

Does NOT: Oxygen deprivation in a developing brain results in HIE. Grade 1 is the mildest form. Your son may have some developmental, motor or cognitive delay, but this does not mean that he will have "mental illness". He is at risk for mental illness like the rest of society. Many children with mild HIE grow up to be very productive adult members of society (authors, speakers, prof etc). Be encouraged. :-)

had tonsillitis. seem fine pain/colour now but can't recall normal size . one size grade 1 the other between 1 & 2. how to tell what's healthy/normal?

Accepted Answer

Normal: You may have always had that size.  Sometimes after an infection, the swelling persists, just like with lymph nodes in some people.  If able to breathe, swallow normal, they are your normal.  If too large, and snoring starts, consider a sleep study.

i had 2 echo done days apart. one says ef 50-55 with diastolic dysfunction grade 2 and the 2nd says ef 60-65 with diastolic dysfunction grade 1. how can you get two different diagnostics only two days apart?

: Did the same people do&amp; interpret the 2 studies? I  would attribute these  differences to the eyeballing and the inherent measurement variability by the interpreters. Also acoustical quality may vary depending upon the ultrasonographer's or technician's experience &amp; ability. I don't place much significance in grade 1 DD by echocardiography.

how sever is grade 1 esophagitis. what risk  treatments and how concerned should one be. using 6 weeks ppi did help little. would diet control help.

Esophagitis: Ppi medications would have a role here, but diet plays an equally important part of treatment.  Try cutting back on fatty or spicy foods, sleep on an extra pillow, and do not eat anything after 8 pm.

had mri in 2021 and one 2 weeks ago - awaiting results. if in 2021 the following notes below would these still be on the new one or can they heal on own. grade 1 anterolisthesis of l4 on l5 impingement of left exit l5 & transversing s1 nerve root?

last year during my pregnancy by checkap i have found that i have gallstones size 3-5mm.after one year homeo treatment i have no stones and i have grade 1 fatty infiltration of liver..what does it mean..and gallbladder was partially distended.?

Surgeon: In view of the partially distended gall bladder and the possibility that the gall bladder now contains sludge from dissolved cholesterol gall stones, I recommend consulting an abdominal surgeon for evaluation, advice and follow-up.  Grade1 fatty infiltration of the liver is mild but calls for lifestyle changes of low fat,low carbohydrate diet, getting to ideal weight and regular exercise.

my 2 year old has grade 1 microtia and tubes and her hearing test says she has (normal hearing in at least one ear) but they recommend a sedated test?

Sedated ABR: A sedated abr will help determine hearing thresholds for each ear separately. Good luch to you and your child.

an x-ray (not ct or mri) indicates that i have a l4/l5 0.3 cm degenerative grade 1 retrolisthesis. i am approx 70 yrs. what is the usual treatment for this, if there is one? also, is it unlikely that a vertebra could somehow slip back into place?

: A grade 1 retrolisthesis is not especially significant unless it is causing you pain. You should see a PM&amp;R doctor, also known as a Physiatrist, who can further assess your condition and will likely send you to the most appropriate physical therapy for treatment.

Start w/ breakfast: Always have a balanced breakfast in the morning; it's a key component of healthy living.  Have a mid morning snack (healthy protein, veggies or fruit) 2-3 hours later.  Reasonably portioned lunch.  Another mid afternoon snack and then appropriately portioned dinner. Avoid eating past 8pm. Good luck!
