Hematoma: It's most likely to be a hematoma from some bleeding from the blood vessel that was stuck to do the procedure have it checked in your follow up visit.

Groin lump: A small lump in the groin may be a lymph node,
Lipoma or an inclusion cyst. A hernia is usually, softer, larger and is able to be pushed in as a rule. A physician or surgeon would have to examine you for diagnosis.

Sometimes it: is difficult if not impossible to tell on physical exam alone whether an inguinal mass is an incarcerated hernia or an enlarged lymph node.  Treatment is completely different for these conditions, so you need to see a doctor who can distinguish one from the other.  Your doctor might even order an imaging test such as ultrasound.

Lab finding by: itself is not too concerning.  But enlarged lymph node, depending on size and if it feels indurated, can be sign of serious viral infection or rarely even lymphoma.  Ask your doctor whether a lymph node biopsy might become necessary.

Reduceable : One of the way is if you find a hole where you can push the lump back in and it go away then likely hernia. A lymph nodes feel more solid and round and can move easily from side to side up and down.

post-op pain?: It is fairly common to encounter swollen lymph nodes in the groin, which could be due to the irritation of the hernia, or more likely from a concurrent urine infection or other type of infection. Taking them out to biopsy them is perfectly reasonable. One day after surgery pain is definitely expected; use cold compresses and take it easy. Pain can last several months after hernia surgery.
