Dilemma: Usually one would wait for at least 6 weeks after your type of repair to put stress on the abdomen and thus you would have to weigh the risk not aborting earlier vs the potential tear of the recent repair.   Although the risk of a tear from an early abortion is likely low, this is a difficult decision and you should consult the surgeon who did the surgery re. This asap.

Hernia activity: Im not exactly sure what a press up is.  However, as a general rule, activity with a hernia is limited by discomfort.  As long as you do not experience pain, it should be safe to proceed with activities.  A binder may help to keep a hernia reduced while exercising.  But, if you are active, and the hernia protrudes frequently, it may be worth discussing this with your doctor and considering repair.

You cannot see hiatal hernia (stomach up in lung area) without imaging or during surgery. Large surgical hernias can be seen/felt all the time. Smaller reducible umbilical/inguinal hernias often can be seen/felt better in upright position etc.. If you have concern, consult doc. Good luck.
